Cross-Lateral Coordination WalkGet your students out of their seats and moving around by speaking sentences that use the present perfect. Also, students will be able to use a specific walking technique in order to activate both the left side and right side of their brains while coordinating the production of new sentences.

Pair/Share SwitchLearn how to have students move around the classroom to energize their brains while continuing to practice the present perfect and speaking to their classmates. This is a pair/share activity in which students share and respond to one question each in pairs, switch questions with each other, and then find a different partner to share and respond to their new questions with.

Partner Walk Across CampusIn this movement activity, students will practice writing grammatically correct present perfect sentence and then practice using them in everyday speech with a partner. The conversation will continue with both partners being mindful to continue to produce sentences that contain the present perfect verb form in conversation, while walking across campus to energize their brains.

Speed FriendingYou’ve probably heard of speed dating, but have you heard of speed friending? For this activity, have students form 2 lines. Next, they will speedily ask a question to a classmate or “friend” standing across from them that targets the present perfect verb tense. Then they will move along their line to energize their brains while continuing to practice the present perfect by talking to a new “friend.”
